That Kind of Person

Your pleasant exterior,
Your charming way of
Phrasing words,
That smile that does not
Quite reach your eyes —
No, they don’t fool me

Tokens you give them
Such as chocolates
And lotion and perfumes
Even without any occasion —
No, they don’t fool me

You know who to aim for
And exactly how to sway them
I have seen this all before
But remember: I have glimpsed
Your dark side more than once —
You don’t fool me, my dear
Not once now, not at all

You’re exactly the kind of person
We should all watch out for.
