A Swarm of Wasps Gather ‘Round

“You know my name, not my story.”
So the saying goes and who
Am I to argue? I won’t even try
Because haven’t we all been there before?

The ground has ears,
The grapevine has wings
So take caution of the words
Spilling out of your mouth

While it’s true they only see
What I choose to show them,
I can’t be held responsible
For how they think

I’m not sure what they’ve been
Going through but it must be a lot
It must be an awful, awful lot
‘Cause they have been directing their
Anger and frustrations out at me

I am the equivalent of
A human punching bag for emotions
Because they have issues
And because I don’t fight back

I must look that fragile and easy
For them to pick on
But I’ll just bite my tongue
And keep my temper on the run.
