You Lit the Fire That I Burn In

I guess it’s half bad
Everything’s flying around
Everyone’s preoccupied
And I’m just sitting here
Realizing things I should’ve known
Ten years before today

Hard to believe I’m not the same
Hard to know things change
So easy to fall through the cracks
So easy to get caught up in the lies

Dreams do come true
But they aren’t the same dream you had
A year ago, a month ago, maybe a week ago
Nothing’s ever the same

The glint in their eyes,
The rain coming down hard on the pavement,
The way that jacket fits you now —
Oh how you look away just to save yourself

I guess it’s that bad
Yeah, I guess it’s that bad after all.
